Ms Sascha Faxe – Side Event at the UNHRCClimate Change in High-Mountain Ecosystems
Global Human Rights Defence sponsored this side event held on the margins of the 62nd session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, co-organised by Villages Unis and CAP Liberté de Conscience at the Palais des Nations, Geneva. This panel brought together parliamentarians, environmental experts and human rights advocates to address the intersection of climate change, ecological connectivity and human rights in high-mountain ecosystems, with a particular focus on the Snow Leopard and the threats posed by transboundary linear infrastructure such as the China-Kyrgystan-Uzbekistan railway. Speakers included former Members of the European Parliament, the Editor of EU Today and leading voices on environmental policy and biodiversity protection in Central Asia.
